Meet your surgeon

Unhurried, thorough — and there for you after surgery too.

I trained in the West Midlands and Oxford, completed a medical retina fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital and have held a substantive consultant post at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals. I take time to listen, explain every step and stay available for your questions before and after surgery.

New in clinic · Retinal laser

Retinal laser,
now part of my care.

I now offer retinal laser treatment to my patients. A precise beam of light treats areas of the retina affected by diabetes, a blocked vein or a small tear — as an outpatient, with the same surgeon from assessment to follow-up.

A 30-second check

Try the Amsler grid at home.

Macular changes can be subtle. This simple grid helps you notice distortion early — and know when to be seen.

01

Wear your reading glasses and hold the grid about 30 cm away.

02

Cover one eye and look steadily at the centre dot.

03

Are any lines wavy, blurred or missing? Repeat with the other eye.

This is not a diagnosis. If anything looks different — or changes suddenly — contact me or your optometrist promptly.

Answers before you even ask.

Still unsure? Call me and I will talk it through with you.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can contact me directly as a self-pay patient. Some insurers ask for a GP or optometrist referral before they authorise treatment — I will tell you if yours does.
